Anne Kyyrö Quinn, who won the Best New Designer award at this show in 2003, is pleased to announce the launch of three exciting new design ranges at New York's International Contemporary Furniture Fair 2004.
The new ranges are all inspired by her love of nature and the organic regeneration of springtime. All the designs are made in high quality felt that has become something of a signature material for AKQ Design.
All of the new designs are available in a wide range of vibrant colour combinations, can be made to order or as part of a standard range of colours and sizes for certain products.
Bloom - inspired by the delicate petals of a newly opened flower; it has the distinctive Anne Kyyrö Quinn signature of tactile three-dimensional design. The design takes the use of high quality felt cushions to another level of subtle sophistication.
Leaf - inspired by the dappled light on the forest floor when flittered though the leaf canopy of high trees. The felt is manipulated in such a way as to give the impression of dynamic movement of the inanimate object as one's eye dances over it.
Flower - as the name suggested is derived from an abstracted image of a flower that has been given life by using unusual techniques in order to present it in this highly stylised sculptural form.
The new ranges, as with all of the existing designs are to be thought of as designs that work in many different environments from large installations in restaurants and public spaces, through to smaller scale domestic installations such as lights, bags, throws, cushions etc.
